Why Use Pumpkin Seed Oil?

Pumpkin seed oil is the perfect ingredient for a pumpkin body scrub, and not just because it’s called a ‘pumpkin’ body scrub!

Pumpkin seed oil works wonders for the skin as it is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins C and E. Because of these nutrients, pumpkin oil has skin restoring properties, moisturising benefits and skin brightening effects.

Babassu Oil and Pumpkin Oil

  • Gently heat the oils in the microwave or in a pan over boiling water.
Essential Oils and Mica Powder

2. Add essential oils and mica

  • Weigh the orange, cinnamon, clove, ginger and nutmeg essential oil in a separate bowl.
  • Add the clementine orange mica powder and mix until they are fully combined.
  • Now add the essential oil and mica powder mixture to the melted oils and mix well
Finished Sugar Scrub

3. Mix in the sugar

  • Weigh out the sugar and add it to the other ingredients.
  • Mix all of the ingredients together until fully combined.
  • Place the mixture into the fridge and mix every 30 minutes (the oils will start to solidify, so this helps keep the sugar evenly spread)
  • Once the sugar is evenly distributed across the mixture, the pumpkin spice sugar scrub is ready to use!
  • To store it, pour the scrub into a jar or airtight container and leave it in a cool, dry place. If room temperature is too warm and causes the mixture to become liquid, store it in the fridge and mix before use.

How To Use A Body Scrub

Body scrubs need to be applied to wet skin, so you should use them in the shower or in a bath. Before using the body scrub, prep the skin by soaking it in warm water and cleansing. Scoop out a handful of the sugar scrub and gently apply it to the skin in circular motions. Once finished, rinse the skin with water to remove any of the excess scrub.
