How To Make Skin Cream With Lanolin

Tired of your skin feeling dry? This 100% natural lanolin skin cream is so hydrating, it will leave your skin looking and feeling healthy!

In this recipe, we're combining lanolin with shea butter, coconut oil, beeswax and vitamin E oil to create a rich, ultra hydrating cream. 

We have also used grapefruit and chamomile essential oil for a sweet and fresh aroma! If your skin doesn't like essential oils, you can leave these out. But it is important to note that natural lanolin does have an earthy aroma.

Why Use Lanolin?

Lanolin is deeply moisturising and it will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth! When applying a lanolin cream, it leaves a protective barrier over the skin which locks in moisture. If you struggle with dry skin, this is the ingredient for you!

Method

1. Melt the ingredients

• Weigh out all of the ingredients into a bowl.
• In a bowl over boiling water, or a double boiler, melt the ingredients. Alternatively, you can melt them in a microwave using short bursts.
• The beeswax may take longer to melt, so make sure to stir occasionally.

2. Pour the mixture into a container

• Once everything has melted, pour the mixture into small containers or tins. You can recycle lip balm tins or use small jars.
• Leave it to cool and then your lanolin cream is ready to use!

TIP: We recommend doing a patch test before applying all over the skin, to check for allergic reactions, irritation or redness. It is recommended to avoid lanolin products if you have very sensitive skin, broken or cracked skin or a lanolin allergy.
